Children's Support Worker

Here at Standby Healthcare, we are currently recruiting for children’s support workers to join our agency team and help one of the many services we support on a regular basis. The successful candidate will have experience working with children, learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Our client delivers a person-centred approach to promote independence, personal development, and confidence. 

Support is centred around caring for complex needs as well as medication support and administration. Support workers will also provide companionship to service users and support in a manner that is appropriate to children. Successful applicants will have experience working with this and be confident working on a 1-to-1 basis. The service houses children with complex needs and learning disabilities, experience in this domain is essential, as well as comfort with moving & handling. 

We are looking for staff to cover a range of shifts, including days, nights and weekends too. We have shifts around County Durham, Spennymoor and Chester-le-Street, so willingness to travel is a real bonus as we also have other packages available in similar areas! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6-months experience in healthcare in the UK with all relevant training and documentation to go alongside it. What you need to have to apply:

· Minimum 6 months experience in the UK healthcare sector

· Ability to complete or provide a DBS (Children’s)

· Relevant experience – a NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care would be a bonus

· UK Driver’s License
