Senior Support Worker

We are looking for someone with a level 3 care qualification and experience of working in a senior/lead role.

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our client team, who can motivate, inspire, lead and has the resilience to deal with whatever life throws at the team on a daily basis. You will have knowledge and experience of working within an adult residential service and work alongside CQC guidelines.

The service is a residential site with 10 specialist rooms, offering tailored and positive support to individuals with specific and complex needs within our adapted-for-purpose building, based in Newcastle.

As part of the team you will be supporting our residents with their ongoing development and daily living. Ensuring our residents' needs are met by following support plans and providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling further independence and achieving positive outcomes.

Residents communicate through BSL, VOCA's, word boards, print symbols and pictures. Successful candidates will encourage and promote effective communication for all our residents.

You will encourage and support our residents to carry out all daily household tasks such as shopping, cooking, tidying and washing. Successful candidates will support with administration of medications, effective management of support workers and some personal care tasks. We uphold the values of positive behaviour support, choice, and autonomy for our residents to lead fulfilling lives, with clear strategies that focus on wellbeing, positive behaviour support and people strategies, all that link directly into the foundation values and promote wellbeing for our residents and staff too.

Residents are encouraged to be part of the community and staff support them to access social events and activities such as the local pub, deaf community groups, football matches, holidays, bowling and swimming to name but a few.

It is a high-energy and friendly service with a focus on delivering the highest standard of person-centred care. As the newest member of our amazing team you will need to have a proactive approach and be an excellent communicator. A great sense of humour is an important asset as well as holding a good understanding of positive behaviour support.

We provide 24-hour residential care 365 days a year so it is important that we are fully flexible to meet these requirements. You must be fully flexible Monday - Sunday.
